What Is Clue?

'Clue' is a slang term to mean (in this context) an intelligent provider that doesn't brag about services they don't offer, that answers questions intelligently, that does nice things for the community, smiles when it's raining and tries hard.

Clueful providers gain respect for their opinions from other regular contributors to mailing lists, news groups or other peer groups over a period of time.

Most of the providers listed in this FAQ are fairly clueful. Indeed, those that aren't clueful haven't noticed they are missing... If you want to get an idea of how good a hosting company is, then go to http://groups.google.com/ and do a search in the uk.net and alt.internet.providers.uk news groups on that hosting company.
